The popular Headingley café is celebrating the Festival of Lights with a delicious new frozen yoghurt creation inspired by the traditional Indian sweet.
Leeds food lovers have a brand-new flavour to discover this Diwali, as viral frozen yoghurt favourite KefiYo introduces a special Barfi-inspired creation to celebrate the Festival of Lights.
The colourful Mediterranean-inspired café, which has taken Headingley by storm since opening this summer, is putting a fresh spin on festive sweet treats with a limited-edition frozen yoghurt flavour inspired by Barfi.
The new addition will be available during this year’s Diwali celebrations, joining KefiYo’s growing menu of frozen yoghurt flavours and giving customers another excuse to get creative with their combinations.
Known for its colourful bowls and fully customisable creations, KefiYo lets visitors build their perfect frozen yoghurt treat, choosing from a wide range of flavours and toppings.
Customers can enjoy unlimited standard toppings at no extra cost, with premium toppings and superfoods also available for those wanting to add something extra.
The café’s existing flavour line-up includes passion fruit, Biscoff, apple pie, strawberry, tiramisu, chocolate orange and natural, alongside a vegan coconut option.
The new Barfi-inspired flavour brings something different to the menu while celebrating one of the most important festivals in the Hindu calendar.
Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is traditionally a time for celebration, family gatherings and sharing food and sweet treats, making it a fitting occasion for KefiYo’s latest creation.
And the launch comes during an exciting period for the independent Leeds business.
Since opening on Ash Road in Headingley this summer, KefiYo has quickly developed a loyal following, with queues regularly stretching around the block and colourful frozen yoghurt creations appearing across social media.
Its popularity has also attracted national attention, with the café featured on BBC News, Business Insider and other outlets.
Gagan Chera, Co-Founder of KefiYo, said:
“We’re so excited to celebrate Diwali with our Leeds community and bring something a little extra special to KefiYo with this amazing new flavour. Diwali is all about joy, togetherness and celebrating with the people around you, which is exactly what KefiYo is about.”
Beyond frozen yoghurt, KefiYo also offers açaí bowls, smoothies, speciality coffees and matcha, while its growing community activities include Pilates pop-ups and run clubs.
The brand’s name comes from the Greek word “kefi,” meaning joy, passion and zest for life, reflecting its feel-good approach to food and bringing people together.
With its latest limited-edition flavour, KefiYo is continuing to give Leeds foodies new reasons to visit, proving that frozen yoghurt isn’t just a summer treat.
KefiYo’s limited-edition Barfi flavour will be available during Diwali at 17 Ash Road, Headingley, Leeds LS6 3JJ.
